You all will be staying in the Millbrook Apartments at Washington University (http://summer.wustl.edu/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1).. Each two-man air-conditioned room has a bathroom, landline phone and wireless internet.  There is a common kitchen with a fridge. Remember to send me any roommate requests, as I will be matching you all up in the next week. Outside of requests, we will match you all by class year.

Here a list of suggested items to bring:

  • Cash to get you through expenses until your first paycheck. We suggest at least $200.
  • Alarm clock
  • Camera
  • Any unique cooking supply needs.
  • At least two businesslike dresses, and coat and tie for receptions
  • Hangers
  • Bedding - pillow, sheets (twin long), blankets, towels. Wash U. can provide linens, but you are in charge of washing them.
  • Coins for laundry machines
  • Bathroom/kitchen cleaning supplies
  • Laundry soap for washing clothes

Do NOT bring items such as a microwave larger than 600 Watts, alcohol, refrigerators larger than 3.2 cubic feet, open-coil hot pots, hot plates, oil popcorn poppers, candles, or incense.

  If you are riding public transportation to work, please check out your route before your first day. Here is the link to the system: http://www.metrostlouis.org/. If you're unsure about it, contact your employer and they should be able to help you.

 

Direction to Wash U.:

The Village is located on the northwest corner of the Washington University Danforth Campus. The Summer Programs & Conference Services office is located on the first floor of the Village House. See the map below for directions.

Coming from the Airport (heading east on I-70)  

Take I-70 east to I-170 south. Exit at Forest Park Parkway. Continue on Forest Park Parkway for approximately 1.9 miles. Turn right onto Big Bend Blvd. On your left hand side is the campus. Turn left onto Snow Way Drive, which is a small campus driveway entrance. Immediately on your right is outdoor parking with metered spaces available. Cross at the cross walk, and The Village House entrance will be on your left.

Heading east on US40/64, directly or via I-270, I-70/I-55     

Please go to the Missouri Highway Department " Map My Trip " page and route your trip. Use Big Bend Blvd. and Forest Park Parkway; Clayton, MO 63130, typed exactly as shown, as your destination address. This will put you on the northwest corner of the campus, where The Village is located. At this point you will want to turn right onto Big Bend Blvd. On your left hand side is the campus. Turn left onto Snow Way Drive, which is a small campus driveway entrance. Immediately on your right is outdoor parking with metered spaces available. Cross at the cross walk, and The Village House entrance will be on your left.

Heading west on US40/I-64

Take Clayton Road exit. Turn right (north) on Skinker. After 1 mile, turn left on Forsyth. The Danforth Campus will be on your right. Turn right onto Big Bend Blvd. Turn right onto Snow Way Drive, which is a small campus driveway entrance. Immediately on your right is outdoor parking with metered spaces available. Cross at the cross walk, and The Village House entrance will be on your left.

Heading south on I-70/I-55

Take US40/I-64 west. Follow directions for heading west on US40/I-64.
