Describe the value of the proposed Internship to the Intern:

Job Description (should include: hours of work, job responsibilities, reporting structure -- chain of command, a description of the intern's "typical" day):
The Marketing Intern will work with the marketing team to develop marketing materials and analyze their impact. Such materials may range from online advertising and email campaigns, to product catalogs and posters, to social media. As an intern at a medium-sized company, there will be opportunities to learn other aspects of the business as time and interest allows. This is not a graphic design position, and no graphic design experience is required.

Management Goals: (should include: role of supervisor, frequency of intermediate reviews, expectations of intern, and an explanation of how the intern fits into the organization's goals -- please indicate whether supervisor works full-time or part-time):
The intern will report to Stephanie Peacock, the Director of Marketing. Bi-monthly meetings with Stephanie will occur to monitor progress and make sure that the intern is challenged and interested. The intern must feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things and seeing projects through from start to finish.

Special Job Requirements (i.e. transportation, language, technical or other skills):
No specific skills are required, other than computer proficiency, organization and enthusiasm. An interest is science is a plus.

Transportation: Students are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the workplace.

International Students: You will need to apply for permission from immigration to work off campus (Optional Practical Training) to engage in a BAA internship. OPT applications can take up to three months for immigration to process, so advance planning is required. These applications must be submitted through the Office of International Students and Scholars. For full information on the OPT application process go to http://www.yale.edu/oiss/immigration/common/f1students/opt.html or contact monica.weeks@yale.edu.

Additional Information:
Business hours at Novus are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday- Thursday, and 8:00-3:00 on Friday, although hours are negotiable and flexible to a degree. Attire and the work environment are casual. There are three office dogs: Koda, Mack and Finn. The office is located about 1 1/2 miles off of the Mineral Light Rail station so a car is helpful, but not a necessity.
